THE UNFORTUNATE TUTORING BUSINESS REALITY: Have you looked into those large tutoring businesses as an option? This is how they work: they charge you a fee that is meant to pay them AND pay the tutor you need. This effectively means that you pay double for a tutoring session! It doesn't have to be like that. Additionally, these large tutoring companies need you to come back to them. If you no longer need their services, they don't make money. That's why they have policies that force their tutors to keep setting future appointments. They want to hook you in forever. My philosophy is the exact opposite: I don't want you to need me. I want to give you the foundational skills that will help you become independent. They say, "give a poor man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him to fish and you will feed him for a lifetime." I'll teach you to fish. YOUR PROBLEM: Are you struggling with English or writing persuasive arguments for your College courses? English and persuasive writing can be broken down into three major parts: 1) Logic: Understanding how to create and organize arguments; 2) Research: Finding evidence in support of that argument; 3) Writing: Putting the argument you have developed and the evidentiary support you have found into words. Some of my students struggle with one area, while others need improvement in all areas. I have helped many bolster their skills in all of the above, and I can help make you become a powerful writer.
